Liquid oils are not safe for horses!
Liquid oils turn rancid easily and destroy biotin, which can result in skin and coat problems and make existing problems worse! Liquid oils must be refrigerated or they quickly become rancid. Rancid oils destroy biotin and also destroy vitamin E. Salad oils belong in the kitchen, not in the stable. Gen-A-Coat is not a liquid oil and a safe way to give horses fatty acids.

The fatty acids in Gen-A-Coat are provided in the form of ground flax seed meal, a safe, natural and palatable oil seed. Be careful: Linseed and flaxseed are not the same. Linseed meal is the de-fatted form of flaxseed -- all the good fatty acids have been removed. To be sure your horse safely gets biotin and fatty acids, feed one scoop of Gen-A-Coat, containing 8 mg of biotin and 3 grams of the essential fatty acids, linoleic acid and linolenic acid.

What is biotin?
Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin. Water soluble means that horses cannot store biotin in their system the way they store vitamin A. Thus, biotin must be supplemented every day.

Can I use Gen-A-Coat and Gen-A-Horse at the same time?
